The Shop DSM Event Center is proudly owned and operated by firefighters of IAFF4 Local 4 and their families.
This space was originally used for over 77 years as the Des Moines Fire Department maintenance and repair shop, and now this group of local firefighters has reimagined the building to create a truly one-of-a-kind event space.
All three levels of The Shop DSM offer a unique experience - ready to be customized to create your perfect event.
When you rent The Shop DSM, you are giving back to the community in a HUGE way!
Our profits are used to support organizations assisting causes that affect the fire community, and we give directly back to fire families in need of assistance.
We are committed to creating an affordable space that serves as a hub for community engagement and collaboration.

The Main Hall at The Shop DSM is a spacious and versatile space that is perfect for hosting large gatherings, weddings, and corporate events & conferences. Rent your own tables and chairs, or use ours to create the perfect set up for your event.

The Rooftop at The Shop DSM offers stunning downtown Des Moines views and a customizable event space, perfect for up to 115 guests for any occasion. This space can also be easily adapted for a rooftop wedding ceremony!

The Basement Lounge at The Shop DSM offers a stylish, relaxed atmosphere. It has a bar, pool table, TVs, and lounge seating, making it ideal for intimate gatherings or as an additional event space.
